2025 Spring Fling Draws Crowd

On Saturday, April 13th, 2025 revelers in the Stonebridge Golf Community came out to celebrate all things spring and Easter at the annual Spring Fling. Over 125 residents gathered in the common at Brosmer-Cook Park for the celebration.

After nearly a week of dreary April rain and low temperatures, the weather couldn't have cooperated more. At 60-degrees under mostly sunny skies, there were events for all ages.

Near the onset of the event, a traditional Easter egg hunt ensued, with hundreds of eggs nestled in every nook and cranny of the common. Onlookers equipped with cell phones followed their children, angling for the perfect photo op. Speaking of which, the Easter Bunny itself made an appearance for anyone looking for a classic shopping-mall style portrait.

The food was abundant, and included pizza, cupcakes, bunny mix, and a variety packaged snacks, along with plenty of drinks. There was also an old fashioned popcorn machine and cotton candy machine, for those looking for a nostalgic treat.

Activities were the main attraction, and consisted of a bounce house, tug-of-war competition, egg-spoon races, sack races, a duck pond, Plinko game board, among others. Kids also lined up to get their faces adorned by a professional face-painter, who was available for the entire two-hour event. DJ Rick Rohn kept the party alive with a mix of tunes for everyone to enjoy. A true master of ceremonies, DJ Rick often volunteers his services for the community—which is always greatly appreciated.

Ashley Blumert, chair of the activity committee, was well-pleased with the turn-out, stating, "We had a GREAT event. Thanks to everyone who came out. We appreciate the community involvement because this gives us the motivation to do more events in the future!" Siobhan Burford and Brenda Chapman, additional members of the activity committee, were also instrumental in volunteering their time to help pull off the event. Thanks to them, as well as a host of other volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make a magical afternoon for everyone!
